Creating a Fast Self-Feedback Loop

the little things Sep 17, 2017

Last week's Little Thing was entirely focused on fixing your approach to the Q&A portion of your presentation...

This week's Little Thing is all about building a self-feedback loop....

Almost every event these days videotapes their sessions - and that's great for you as a speaker. It means that you have the opportunity to watch every single one of your presentations over and over and over again with a hypercritical eye. Here's the problem - sometimes it's weeks - months - or even years before you see their recorded video of your session —— if you see it at all.

BTW, in every single one of my speaker agreements, I include a clause about getting a hi-res, raw copy of any video or images from my session (if you want a copy of this clause, shoot me an e-mail, I'm happy to send it along.)

Here's the deal; Watching a video of a presentation you delivered 3 months ago doesn't actually help you improve that much. It always helps to watch yourself speak, however, you should be watching every single one of your performances within 24 hours of delivering it.

In this week's little thing, I'll walk you through how to start this self-feedback loop and your homework for next week!
